ABOUT ETHICS IN ACTION

2007 Board of Directors
History of Ethics in Action
Corporate Social Responsiblity (CSR)

The BC Ethics in Action were created in 1994 as a result of the combined commitment and vision of Vancity and Workplace Centre for Spiritual and Ethical Development.

The BC Ethics in Action Awards ceremony is a significant gala event attracting national media coverage and hundreds of key executives from public and private sectors.

In 2007, BC Ethics in Action will be building on the success of recent awards event by hosting a gala evening featuring past award winners to lead roundtable discussions.

Every year we celebrate ...

... BC based businesses and business leaders who are building new corporate models, organizations and individuals who exemplify good corporate citizenship by making corporate social responsibility a key aspect of their daily operations.

For these leaders, business strategies and operations go beyond the financial bottom-line.  Balancing principles with profit means taking action -- implementing values, systems and processes that benefit their local and global communities, and the environment -- and they set examples for others to learn and be inspired.

Award events are organized by a volunteer events committee, and award recipients are chosen by a volunteer
selection committee
.

We are a registered society

The British Columbia Ethics in Action Society was formed in 2004 as part of officially registering as a NPO society. Registration was officially accepted and completed in early 2005.

The Ethics in Action Awards are governed by this society which is in turn governed by a volunteer board of directors.
